“Innovation in Visual Storytelling and Design”

My name is Arvin Hum, I am a Visual Development Artist and Illustrator born and raised in Los Angeles, California.

When I was young, cartoons has been a big part of my inspiration and determination in pursuing art. Like many young artists, I drew with loose paper and pencil whenever I was inspired to create, not knowing that one day it will turn into a career.

I’ve attended John A. Rowland High School, and it was then that I knew I wanted to pursue a career in the entertainment business. I was very fortunate that the school enrolled me into an animation program instead of a regular art program, otherwise I wouldn’t have known the possibilities of pursing art as a career.

After Rowland High School, I attended several colleges in pursuit of my career goals. I’ve first attended Mt. San Antonio College and Fullerton College, where I’ve met some inspirational teachers that solidified my desire to specify in Visual Development. Later, I attended my final college years at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, where my skills, knowledge, and experiences in Visual Storytelling and Design grew exponentially.

Story and Design has been a fascination of mine as I grew as an artist in my field. Seeing other artists producing ground breaking methods encourages me to do the same. Every person has their own unique way of telling a story, and I want to be able to inspire others through my work just as many artists has inspired me before.
